STRIKING DOCTORS: FG BOWS TO DEMANDS, GIVES FRESH CONDITION

The federal government under the leadership of President Buhari has accepted to fulfil the demands of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors, NARD who are currently on industrial action.

However, the federal government maintained that it would enforce its no-work, no-pay scheme.

Recall that the NARD has been on industrial action over inconsistent payment of salaries, among other problems.

Going by the failed steps taken to get the group to sheath their sword and suspend its strike via industrial court and other means, the Buhari government declared the enactment of the no-work, no-pay scheme.

Briefing our  State House correspondents on Sunday after meeting with President Buhari, Dr Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment noted that the 12-point requests of NARD have been fulfilled.

However, Dr Chris stressed that the implementation of sec. 43 of the Trade Dispute Act within the interval of the strike remains active.
