President Buhari Gives Approval for 2022 Population Census

The Nigeria president, Muhammadu Buhari has authorized the National Population Commission [NPC] to continue with the preparation to carry out another census in May, next year.
Budgeted for the exercise is the sum of two hundred billion which is expected to be included in the 2022 budget for the smooth conduct of the population census in 2022.
Recall that in may this year, the House of Representatives had advised President Buhari to postpone the intended 2021 census pending when the security challenges in the country subsided.
Following a motion moved by Shehu Beji, a member representing Bosso–Paikoro Federal Constituency of Niger State, The resolution of the House on the matter was passed.
Nonetheless, a main source in the Presidency on Monday, noted that the President is readied to carry out another census after fifteen years.
