MINISTER OF POWER SLUMPED AND WAS HOSPITALIZED IN ABUJA AFTER BEING RELIEVED OF HIS JOB

The relieved minister of power, Saleh Mamman slumped in Abuja and was rushed to the hospital yesterday following his being relieved of the job by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Alhaji Mamman functioned as power minister from 2019 until he was sacked on Wednesday as Mr Buhari performed a slight reshuffling of his cabinet crew.
Alhaji Saleh slumped yesterday and was instantly hospitalised,’ a family member told reporters under anonymity. ‘Being relieved of his job came as a shock to him, he never anticipated it this soon.’ Mr Mamman’s illness was not instantly explained to a reporter, and his spokesman declines the request for any comment.
Newsmen gathered that Mr Mamman has been secretly receiving medical care at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja.
The fired minister, Mr Mamman was alleged to have been residing at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja for over 3 weeks on the bills of some influential interests in the power sector, who were expecting he would continue to be in the office to help approve lucrative contracts to them.
‘Mamman has been perpetually living at Transcorp Hilton since the beginning of August,’ an anonymous source said that, ‘Mr Mamman’s bills were being footed by some supposed big weight in the power sector who were hoping for more lucrative deals before the unfortunate news of his dismissal broke on Wednesday.’
Mamman is also said to have plans to contest for governor in Taraba state in 2023 polls, an assertion that is yet to be verified.
