Criminals Set Vehicle On Fire In Enugu

A truck carrying vegetables, tomatoes and other perishable foodstuff was on Monday morning set on fire by an unidentified persons in Enugu.
Newsmen gathered that the incident occurred at Edem Junction, Ibeagwa, Nike in Enugu East LGA.
Despite, there was no sit-at-home in Enugu State on Monday, citizens inferred that the perpetrators were implementing the order which has successfully been suspended.
It was said that the truck was coming from the Ugwogo axis of the Opi/Enugu by-pass when it was barricaded and set ablaze .
Some concerned individuals were said to have put a call to the State Fire Service which provoked a quick response by the Ogui Road fire service station.
The public relation officer of the state police command, Daniel Ndukwe, was not reachable for comments on the incident, however, a senior police officer, who substantiated this report, told our correspondent that the culprit were only attempting to infuse fears in the minds of the populace, who had quit heeding to the sit-at-home order by IPOB.
‘The incident you saw this morning is a develish attempt by some criminals who are trying to threaten law abiding residents and force them to continue to stay at home.
‘Have my assurance that the police will arrest all those behind this dastardly act. Another thing I will advise our law abiding people is not to surrender to this of psychological warfare before them by those who want to submit them,’ sais the police source.
