TWO POLICEMEN KILLED, OTHERS INJURED AS GUNMEN STRUCK THE KOGI CHECKPOINT

Armed Men suspected to have come from the neighbouring Ekiti State region have reportedly fired two police officers to death at a checkpoint in Kabba, headquarters of Kabba, Bunu LGA, Kogi State.
According to an onlooker, the event took place around 5 pm on Monday at the Origa checkpoint along Kabba / Iyara road,
Reporters gathered that the alleged criminals who rode in a Sport Utility Vehicle suddenly started shooting at the two police officers when they were flagged down for regular check.
The witness informed our correspondent that three more police officers who narrowly escaped suffered various degrees of wounds as the fleeing criminal shot recklessly to make their way for escape.
Report also has it that the victimised police officers were from the recently established B divisional headquarters, Kabba.
However, the criminals were said to be entering Kaba from the Ekiti region and were possibly heading towards Abuja, through Kogi before the incident happened.
Meanwhile, the other two deceased officers were deposited at the General Hospital mortuary in Kabba and the injured, receiving medical care at a private hospital.
