Music Icon Victor Uwaifo is dead

Sir Victor Uwaifo, an iconic man in the music industry has passed on at the age of 80.
Uwaifo in his lifetime, was a creative songwriter, sculptor, music and instrument architect.
Commonly known as Guitar boy, the legendary Nigerian musician died after a short ailment.
Sir Victor was honoured with the National Merit Honours of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).
Sir Victor was Nigeria’s first Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism. Also, he was the winner of the first gold disc in Africa [Joromi], produced in 1965.
He obtained a B.A. Honours [first class valedictorian], MA and PhD in Architectural Sculpture from the University of Benin.
He has once lectured at the Department of Fine and Applied Art, UNIBEN.
