12 KILLED, SEVERAL WOMEN RAPED IN ZAMFARA VILLAGE BY BANDITS

No fewer than 12 persons have killed on a bandits rampage in the village of Duba, Batsari council area of Katsina on Saturday evening.

A native, who begged anonymity, told newsmen that women were raped in the invasion of the bandit in the village, which is a stone throw from Batsari town.

‘our enemies came in mass at about evening and unleashed their horrors unabated. Presently, 12 persons are verified dead and we are still on a manhunt into the nearby bush for possible extra corpses.’

‘Bandits have been terrorizing this area lately, taking our villages unaware and killing people almost daily and they are doing that without any constraint,’ said the source.

The Police authorities have yet to verify the incident as of press time.
