Fear in Guma LGA as Gun men killed two teenagers

There is a palpable fear in Guma local government area as Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen attacked Yelewata community, killing two teenagers.
The teenagers were murdered by the suspected herdsmen while working on their family farm yesterday.
Third person was said to have died by stray bullet from security operatives who tried to disperse protesting youths protesting the killing of the three teenagers.
The killing warranted the anger in the area and after recovering the corpses, the angry youths dumped them on the highway and blocked the Makurdi-Lafia busy road for several hours.
Combined efforts of paramilitary and military agencies dismantled the roadblock and dispersed the angry youths who were said to have rebuffed the security men earlier .
The council Chairman , Caleb Abah, who confirmed the killing said that a protester died after one of the security personnels accidentally fired a shot in the protesting crowd.
“Sadly, in an attempt to disperse the angry youths who were resisting, there was shooting by the security agencies and unfortunately, one of the protesters was hit by a bullet and died. As we speak right now, calm has been restored to the area and we are already making arrangements for the dead to be buried,” he stated.
